Beloved by hotel guests, a destination for gourmet enthusiasts, sailors, and yacht owners, Il Paguro restaurant has been included in the Gambero Rosso Restaurant Guide 2025. This accolade crowns an unforgettable season, which we proudly share with you, reaffirming the value of a cuisine deeply rooted in the territory and the uniqueness of an extraordinary location.
Il Paguro: the taste of the sea
Perched on a terrace overlooking Cala Capra beach, Il Paguro offers a natural stage with views stretching from Caprera Island to the Capo Ferro lighthouse in Porto Cervo. Every detail is meticulously designed to provide guests with a memorable experience, where the beauty of nature blends with the flavours of the sea and Sardinian tradition. From freshly caught fish to local lobsters, and dishes celebrating Gallurese and Mediterranean specialities, every plate is a tribute to Sardinia and its flavours. The newly added glass-enclosed wine cellar and tasting room enhance the dining experience, showcasing prestigious regional, national, and international wine labels.
Inclusion in the Gambero Rosso guide is among the most coveted recognitions for a restaurant. It serves as a trusted reference for food and wine enthusiasts, an authoritative source listing “the right places” and reliable addresses, as the Gambero Rosso motto states: “for curious and food-loving consumers”.
This accolade reinforces the praise featured in an article published this summer on the official Gambero Rosso website, where Il Paguro was selected among the best restaurants “to eat very well in Costa Smeralda”. “The cuisine”, writes Gambero Rosso food critic Giuseppe Carrus, “is traditional, perfectly executed, with a focus on the catch of the day and carefully selected Sardinian suppliers, thanks to a decade-long collaboration with the entire Delphina group. Guests can enjoy a sublime lobster pasta, a delicious octopus salad, a beautifully prepared stewed catch-of-the-day fillet, or lorighittas (traditional Sardinian pasta) with seafood and saffron”.
More than a restaurant: a unique experience
Il Paguro is more than a place to dine. It’s also a favourite destination for yacht owners who pause for lunch while sailing among the islands of the La Maddalena Archipelago, southern Corsica, and Costa Smeralda. Cala Capra’s private marina offers restaurant guests free mooring for yachts and charters up to 60 metres in length at the quay and up to 100 metres in the mooring field, with complimentary tender service.
Upon arrival, guests are warmly welcomed by Angelo Malaguarnera, restaurant manager and sommelier. As he explains, “The beauty of our work lies in anticipating requests and adding that human touch that makes the experience unforgettable”.
